Man Arrested For Duping Govt Job Aspirants In J&K

JAMMU, Aug 10 : An official stated that on Thursday, the Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police caught a guy who had been on the run for the previous nine years after he was charged with defrauding people under the pretence of setting up government jobs.
The special squad of the Crime Branch Jammu’s economic crimes department detained Bilal Ahmad Handoo, also known as “Doctor Sahib,” a resident of Srinagar’s Bemina neighbourhood, according to a representative for the organisation.
He claimed that in 2012, a case was opened at the Crime Branch Jammu police station under the provisions of the Ranbir Penal Code in response to a complaint from a man who claimed that a gang had defrauded him of his hard-earned money under the pretence of securing government jobs for his children.According to the spokesperson, Handoo has spent the last nine years relocating frequently to avoid being apprehended.
He said that claims of cheating and fraud were supported and proven against the defendants during the course of the inquiry, leading to the filing of a chargesheet against the accused, including Handoo, before a court in 2014 for judicial determination.
According to the spokesperson, Handoo is the eighth fugitive to be apprehended by the Crime Branch Jammu in various instances during the previous nine weeks.
