NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the Indian Constitution is referred to as a living instrument and stated that the government of Lord Ram served as an inspiration to those who drafted it. During the 109th episode of his monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi declared, “The Indian Constitution was created through such intense brainstorming that it is considered a living document.” “The Fundamental Rights of the citizens of India are described in the third chapter of the original copy of the Constitution. It’s interesting to note that the authors of our Constitution included images of Lord Ram, Mother Sita, and Lakshman ji at the beginning of the third chapter. The authors of the Constitution drew influence from Lord Ram’s administration as well,” he continued. PM Modi stated, “That is why, on January 22nd in Ayodhya, I talked about from Dev se Desh (lord to nation) as well as Ram se Rashtra (Ram to nation),” referring to the Ram Lalla idol’s consecration ceremony at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. He claimed that the nation’s consecration has united lakhs of people. “Everyone has the same emotions and levels of dedication. Everyone speaks of Ram, and everyone feels Ram in their hearts,” he remarked.Regarding the Padma awards, Prime Minister Modi stated that throughout the past ten years, the awarding system has undergone a complete transformation, evolving into the “people’s Padma”. Individuals now have the opportunity to nominate themselves. This explains why, in comparison to 2014, there have been 28 times as many nominations this time around. This demonstrates that the Padma Award’s stature, legitimacy, and respect are growing yearly,” Modi stated.
