NEW DELHI: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated on Friday that India intends to land a man on the moon by 2040 and that Chandrayaan 3 is just the beginning. “We are transparent and clear today; support will be provided to the sector. India promises to land a man on the moon by 2040; Chandrayaan 3 is just the beginning of the journey. In a similar vein, India’s Amrit Kaal plans to see a developed nation by 2047. At a press conference on Friday, Hardeep Singh Puri stated, “Gaganyaan projects aim to demonstrate human space flight capability and India promises man on the moon by 2040.” The goal of the Gaganyaan project is to demonstrate the capability of human spaceflight by sending a crew of three people into a 400 km orbit for a three-day mission, and then safely returning them to Earth by landing in Indian waters. India will become the fourth country, after the US, Russia, and China, to launch a manned space mission with the help of this programme. The Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) was commended earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reaching yet another technological milestone in space. The Propulsion Module of Chandrayaan-3 made a successful diversion. The Propulsion Module is transferred from lunar orbit to Earth orbit in an additional novel experiment. The Prime Minister commented on X, “Congratulations @isro,” in response to ISRO’s post on X regarding this accomplishment.“We have reached a significant technological milestone in our future space endeavours by sending an Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040.” The Propulsion Module (PM) of Chandrayaan-3 was moved from an orbit around the Moon to an orbit around Earth in another novel experiment, similar to the hop experiment on the Vikram Lander, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The Propulsion Module (PM) of Chandrarayaan-3 successfully makes a diversion! A different kind of experiment involves moving PM from lunar orbit to Earth orbit. PM was put into an Earth-bound orbit via an orbit-raising manoeuvre and a Trans-Earth injection manoeuvre, according to a post made by ISRO on X. The main goals of the Chandrayaan-3 mission were to use the instruments on Vikram and Pragyaan to conduct experiments and demonstrate a soft landing close to the lunar south polar region. On July 14, 2023, the spacecraft was launched from SDSC, SHAR, aboard an LVM3-M4 vehicle. The historic landing of Vikram Lander on August 23 was followed by the deployment of the Pragyan rover. In accordance with the mission life, the scientific instruments on board Lander and Rover were run nonstop for a single lunar day. The Chandrayaan-3 mission objectives have been fully accomplished.
