Ganderbal, Jun 4: In preparation for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of security and logistical arrangements at the Baltal Base Camp in Ganderbal district.
The IGP was accompanied by Rajiv Pandey and Sudhanshu Dhama during the visit. The officers inspected various facilities established for personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Armed Police Forces deployed for Yatra duties.
During the inspection, the officers assessed the preparedness of security infrastructure, accommodation facilities, communication networks, and other essential arrangements aimed at ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
Emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts among all stakeholders, the IGP directed concerned officers to maintain the highest level of preparedness and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed well before the commencement of the Yatra.
He reiterated the commitment of the police and security agencies towards providing a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
According to Ganderbal Police, all necessary measures are being put in place to maintain a secure environment and facilitate the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage, one of the most significant religious events in the region.
