Govt Working To Make Cooperative Strong Part Of Rural Life: PM

New Delhi, Dec 27: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that his government is attempting to establish cooperatives as significant aspect of rural life. He claimed that after gaining traction in industries like dairy and sugar production, cooperatives are now being greatly expanded in sectors like agriculture and fisheries. Speaking with recipients of the current Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,” he said that the last ten years have seen transformation in the lives of crores of people who have benefited from his government’s welfare programmes. This transformation has been marked by courage, fulfilment, and dreams. When Modi engages with people, he finds immense satisfaction in witnessing their confidence in themselves.During the yatra, he said one crore people have been given ‘Ayushman’ card, a health insurance scheme run by the government for the poor, 1.25 crore people have undergone health check-ups while more than 70 lakh inspected for tuberculosis.
Taking a swipe at previous dispensations, he said if the situation during their tenure had prevailed now, then prospective beneficiaries of these schemes would have lost their hopes doing rounds of government offices.
There is no nepotism and bribery now to get these benefits, he said, adding “Modi is like family to you. You don’t need any connection.”During his ten years in office, 10 crore women have joined self-help groups nationwide and received Rs 7.5 lakh crore from banks, he said, adding that his goal is to see crore women become “lakhpatis.” The prime minister stated that in order to support farmers, his administration is constructing lakhs of storage facilities.
