MUMBAI: According to a YouTuber who claimed that someone had unlawfully accessed the footage of a CCTV camera installed in his home and shared his private video on social media, the Mumbai police have opened a case, an official said on Thursday. The official stated that the 21-year-old Bandra resident and YouTuber informed the police on December 9 that one of his friends had notified him about a video that appeared on Telegram, Instagram, and YouTube that featured him without any clothes. The first information report that the Bandra police filed last week claims that the YouTuber can be seen emerging nude from his bathroom.The complainant informed the authorities that the image dates from November 17 and was taken by a home security system. He told the police that someone had illegally accessed the footage and shared it online. According to the official, an investigation is in progress and a case has been filed against unidentified individuals under the Information Technology Act and sections 500 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (defamation).
