JAMMU: DC Jammu, today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023 here in DC Office complex.The meeting included senior officers from Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Tourism, Information & PR, Security, Health, CRPF, and representatives from various religious organisations in addition to SSP Chandan Kohli, Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, ADC Sandeep Seointra, RTOs, CMO SDMs, and others.The Deputy Commissioner began by conducting a thorough assessment of all the arrangements for all the facilities, including lodging, barricading, security measures, installation of technical equipment and wi-fi, public address system, supply of power and water, cleanliness, sanitation, and medical facilities at registration counters, lodging centres, and particularly in the Jammu Base Camp-Yatri Niwas.The Chair was informed that two counters each at Geeta Bhawan and Ram Mandir and five total counters had been set up for Sadhus to register for Tatkals at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Sabha, and Panchayat Ghar. It was also made aware that a token counter had been set up at Saraswati Dham for managing crowds and disbursing pilgrims.The conference was also informed that the Vaishnavi Dham and Railway Station have counters where pilgrims can obtain their RIFD cards. In regards to Yatri Niwas, lodgement centres, registration counters, and other locations, the Municipal Commissioner of Jammu gave the assurance that the necessary work will be done in accordance with custom. The DC instructed the top police officials to see to it that each langar had a CCTV system and an appropriate lighting setup. She also requested that checkpoints be properly barricaded and staffed with security personnel.Regarding medical treatment, the DC requested that the CMO assign sufficient teams of doctors, paramedics, and ambulances to yatri niwas and other necessary locations, where they will work around the clock to accommodate pilgrims. The Deputy Commissioner gave orders to all of the officers present at the meeting to make sure that their respective departments have made the essential preparations well in advance of the start of the Yatra. She also gave the appropriate commanders orders to prepare their personnel and equipment to ensure that Yatris would have a comfortable trip and stay.She requested that the relevant ministries take steps to ensure that the pilgrims do not experience any hardship due to a lack of necessities.
