Kohli Out For Remainder Of Series; Pacer Akash Deep Gets Maiden Call-Up

New Delhi, Feb 10: The BCCI announced on Saturday that star batsman Virat Kohli would miss the remaining Test matches against England for to personal reasons. This puts an end to rumours regarding the star player's availability for the highly anticipated match. The first two Tests had been skipped by Kohli. For personal reasons, Virat Kohli will not be eligible for selection for the rest of the series. The BCCI stated in a release that "The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli's decision." Kohli is presently away due to an urgent family emergency. India won the second Test at Vizag, tying the series at one. The third game is set to begin in Rajkot on February 15.Senior players Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul were chosen by the national selection committee for the team, although their inclusion is pending approval from the BCCI medical staff. Jadeja sustained a hamstring strain, and Rahul experienced a mild ache in his right quadricep. Shreyas Iyer, a senior hitter, has not been selected despite complaining of lower back and groyne stiffness. Nevertheless, the BCCI has not released a medical update for him. It is thought that Iyer would have been dropped regardless, and selectors' decision was made simpler by his injury.Bengal speedster Akash Deep, who has been acknowledged for his continuous performance in first-class cricket and in the recent India A vs. England Lions Test series, is the only new face in the 17-man roster. Saurabh Kumar, the left-arm spinner, has been discharged, Jadeja has returned, and Mohammed Siraj has rejoined the team in lieu of Avesh Khan. Kashmir bat makers sue Shark Tank India, Tramboo Sports

SRINAGAR, Feb 5: Legal action has been taken by the Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) against Sony Pictures Networks, the company behind the hit reality series "Shark Tank India," and Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd. Claims made on the show during an episode that aired on January 30 of this year are the source of the controversy. The official handout from CBMAK, the acknowledged association representing all cricket bat producers in the Kashmir valley, strongly refuted the claim that Tramboo Sports is the only company producing cricket bats made of Kashmir willow.The Association said that Tramboo Sports' remarks on "Shark Tank India" had deceived the public and seriously harmed the businesses of its members. It voiced extreme concern about these remarks. The Association said that these falsehoods had caused a “severe blow” to the sales of the bats made by its members and had tarnished the standing of the whole locally produced bat industry in Kashmir. CBMAK established the foundation for its allegations against Tramboo Sports by highlighting the exceptional quality of bats made by its members, which are supported and used by a number of famous cricket players.CBMAK expressed shock at the statements made by Tramboo Sports on January 30, 2024, in the "Shark Tank India" Season 3 episode. They claimed that in order to hurt CBMAK members, Tramboo Sports misrepresented themselves as the only producers of Kashmir willow bats. The Association said that by misrepresenting the public and buyers, Tramboo Sports' false claims had negatively impacted the supply and sales of bats made by CBMAK members, damaging the reputation of the local industry.As the sole and authentic representative of Kashmir's cricket bat makers, CBMAK asserted the unwavering backing of its members and positioned itself as the defender of the well-being and success of the region's bat manufacturing sector. The Association has sent a thorough legal notice to Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports, requesting that they apologise on-air within 15 days, through its legal counsel. Furthermore, CBMAK is requesting a hundred crores in compensation through the legal notice for the losses, damages, and mental anguish they have experienced.Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd. has responded that there were misconceptions because the televised pitch on "Shark Tank India" was only a small portion of a presentation that lasted more than an hour. The corporation also underlined how everyone should prioritise business development and support the community's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Comparisons with MS Dhoni hurt but there’s nobody like him in my life: Rishabh Pant

NEW DELHI: For a while now, Rishabh Pant has been getting advice from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but there was a moment when the young keeper-batter found it difficult "to breathe" due to the similarities with the renowned former India captain. Pant, who is still in recovery from a near-fatal vehicle accident in 2022, said that Dhoni is currently the only person he feels safe talking almost anything about in his life with. However, he also acknowledged that in the early stages of his career, it was difficult to accept comparisons to the legendary Ranchi man. "I used to have terrible feelings. When I was 20 or 21 years old, I used to cry and go back to my room. I was breathing heavily under pressure. I was under a lot of strain and wasn't sure what to do. As the audience began to shout "Dhoni Dhoni," I missed a stumping in Mohali," Pant claimed in a "Star Sports" series that chronicled his recuperation from the injury. Speaking about his relationship dynamics with the 2011 World Cup winner, Pant stated that at this point he feels emotionally overloaded. It's never easy for me to describe my relationship with MS Dhoni. There are certain people you may speak freely with. All of this is discussed with MSD. He's taught me so much already."I talk to him about things that I wouldn't talk to anyone else about. That's the nature of my relationship with him," Pant remarked. Before the terrible crash turned things ugly, Pant, who was unquestionably India's greatest game-changer in Test cricket, admitted that he was honestly perplexed by the comparisons to Dhoni, a true legend. "To begin with, I didn't understand the purpose of the questions. People were discussing me as a replacement when I had just joined the squad," Pant remarked. "Why were people asking such pointed questions of a child? For what reason are you drawing comparisons? There ought to be no analogy whatsoever. While some have played 500 matches, others have just played five. The comparison is unfair because there have been so many ups and downs throughout the lengthy road." Pant remarked that for helping him feel at ease when he initially arrived, elders like Yuvraj Singh would always have his gratitude. "I was extremely young when we started, and there were a lot of experienced players—a lot of them, in fact. Seniors Yuvraj Singh and MS were present. I didn't feel like they were extremely seniors, but it does take some time. They were really kind and made me feel at home. Every new player feels extremely at ease with them. "This is the Indian team's culture," he declared. [caption id="attachment_10137" align="alignnone" width="300"] Comparisons…

"It is our good fortune that this temple is being built at this time, so we should all go and get blessings (from Lord Ram)....I am definitely going to the (Ram Mandir inauguration) to seek blessings (from Lord Ram)," the Member of Parliament for AAP stated. Days prior, Harbhajan Singh, the leader of his party and the chief minister of Delhi, had stated that he would not be attending the event on January 22 and that he has not yet received a "formal invitation" for the "Pran Pratistha." He continued by saying that, after January 22, he and his spouse, kids, and parents will go to the temple.
