Police, Army resume operations against terrorists in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: In the Kokernag forest area of the Anantnag district, where security forces and militants engaged in combat on September 13, a search operation is currently under progress. JAMMU: On Sunday, Jammu Police asserted that they had solved the case of a man's blind murder in an outlying city neighbourhood known as Bishnah. The gruesome murder case of Sunny Saansiya of Kothey Bulanday, Chorli, Bishnah, who was attacked by unidentified individuals on September 14 at his home and later died while being rushed to the hospital, has been solved, according to senior superintendent of police for Jammu Chandan Kohli. Four people have been arrested in connection with the case. According to the Jammu SSP, police teams were organised under the direction of Ramnish Gupta, SP Headquarters Jammu, and they were tasked with locating suspects after receiving leads and gathering technical evidence and human intelligence. "During prolonged questioning, one of the suspects, Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Bari Brahmana, District Samba, confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of others who had helped with logistics, concealed the vehicles, sharp-edged weapons, and a pistol used in the offence. He said that after the crime was committed, the stolen vehicle was also found. He also claimed that the main suspect revealed the identities of his collaborators, and that after a day of raids at several locations, police were able to apprehend four suspects. Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Bari Brahmana, Samba, Dushyant Kumar of Palli, Sarpanch Yuvraj Singh of Kallana, Arnia, Jammu, and Nasir Khan of Badhar Khan, Bishnah, Jammu were the people who were detained. Notably, the car that had been abandoned at the scene of the crime and thrown into the canal was also found. Samba police detained 12 vagrants near Chitta hotspot

Jammu, Sep 17: For the first-of-its-kind air display by the Indian Air Force here on September 21 and 22, all necessary preparations, including a strong security cover, have been concluded, officials said on Sunday. A defence spokeswoman announced that the IAF Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT), the Akashganga Daredevil Skydiving team, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), Mi-17 helicopters, and the IAF band would all perform during the air show at Air Force Station in Jammu.During the grand and spectacular event, which is being organised by the IAF and civil administration to commemorate the diamond jubilee of the Air Force Station Jammu and the 76th anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir's accession to the Indian Union, Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft are also expected to display low-level aerobatics and manoeuvring, the spokesperson said. The official announced that Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha would be the event's chief guest and that LED displays would be set up with live feed for the crowd.Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner for Jammu, evaluated the preparations for the air show on Saturday, according to officials. This included security, parking options, and seating arrangements, among other things. According to the source, the Traffic Department was given instructions to create a thorough traffic management strategy and locate appropriate parking places. Anantnag operation enters 5th day

SRINAGAR:According to officials, the operation to find terrorists hiding in the Gadole forest region of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district started its fifth day on Sunday as security forces expanded their operational area to include nearby villages and fired a number of mortar shells at the forest. In order to keep an eye on the dense forest region where terrorists are thought to have taken refuge since Wednesday after killing two Army officers and a deputy superintendent of police in the initial exchange of fire, security forces are utilising drones and helicopters, according to the officials. The security forces reportedly fired three mortar shells towards the woodland as the assault resumed on Sunday morning. They claimed there were many cavernous hiding places in the surrounding woodland, and drones were being employed to locate them in order to launch strikes against them. On Friday, security troops shelled one of these hideouts, and drone footage captured a terrorist scurrying for safety. SRINAGAR: In an attempt to cross the Line of Control in the Baramulla area of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday that was thwarted with the deaths of three militants, the Pakistan Army provided cover fire to infiltrating terrorists and targeted quadcopters of the Indian Army, officials claimed. "Despite the terrible weather, an ambush this morning at 6:40 a.m. observed three to four terrorists attempting to cross the LoC in the Hathlanga area. "Contact was made right away, and the firefight went on for two hours," he added. The officer said that to neutralise the terrorists, the army employed rocket launchers, multi-grenade launchers, and under-barrel grenade launchers (UBGL). "We neutralised one terrorist. Two wounded terrorists had altered their course, the ambush party later realised. Around 9.15 am, the ambush party engaged in a second gunfight with them, which lasted for around 30 minutes and led to the neutralisation of the second terrorist, he claimed. The third wounded terrorist, according to Brigadier Dhillon, "exfiltrated" with the aid of gunfire from a neighbouring Pakistani station. "His exfiltration received fire support from a Pakistani Army station, which also fired at us. They also fired at our quadcopters. Our calculations indicate that the wounded terrorist passed away in the general vicinity, roughly 300 metres away from the Pakistani position. ‘Hardcore’ criminal, associate arrested in Jammu

JAMMU: A top police officer announced on Saturday that a suspected hardcore criminal who had been included in more than a dozen FIRs during the previous three years had been detained. The officer claimed that his close friend was also detained. Both Bishnah residents Yakoob Ali alias Lambu and Sharief Ali were detained in Phallain Mandal. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Jammu) Chandan Kohli, two sharp weapons were taken from them. He claimed that as the two perpetrators were driving in a car, the police set up special checkpoints at several sites and apprehended them. The cops subdued the couple despite being attacked with sharp weapons when they attempted to run after witnessing the checkpoints, the officer claimed.Kohli called Lambu's arrest a "major success" and said that he is a well-known drug dealer and criminal.
