Srinagar, Nov 24: According to officials on Friday, most of Kashmir saw temperatures above freezing last night as residents received a break from the cold and fog. According to the officials, the lowest temperature ever recorded in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was 0.9 degrees Celsius. For the first time in the previous five days, they claimed, the city's minimum temperature remained above freezing. Minimum temperatures between 0 and 1.7 degrees Celsius were also recorded in Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kokernag, Kulgam, and Kupwara.With a temperature of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius, the Pahalgam tourist resort in the south Kashmir Anantnag district was the coldest place in the valley. Shopian, with a temperature of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius, was the next coldest place on record. A low of minus 2.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at the Gulmarg ski resort in north Kashmir. The meteorologist explained that last night's increase in the minimum temperature was caused by the arrival of a western disturbance that is predicted to have an impact on the system. This year, the Corporation redesigned the second phase of the Gandola using the newest technology, conducted multiple safety tests, and improved the ticket issuing mechanism to improve and enhance the service delivery.J&K Cable Car Corporation's managing director, Raja Yaqoob, stated that the company is aware of its importance as a major player in the J&K tourism industry. He stated that the company is dedicated to enhancing visitors' experiences by providing them with a simple, hassle-free, and secure travel. He urged travellers to book their tickets exclusively online, adhere to the times specified on the ticket, and avoid any inconvenience by promising even better facilities during the upcoming winter season. The Gulmarg Cable Car has two phases, which are as follows: the first goes from the Gulmarg resort to Kongdori valley, and the second goes from Kongdori to Apharwath Peak.There are 18 towers and 108 cabins on the ropeway overall. The first stage travels to Kongdoori Station, located in the bowl-shaped Kongdori valley, from the Gulmarg resort at 2,650 metres (8,694 feet). At Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of neighbouring Afarwat Peak (4,200 m (13,780 ft)), the second stage of the ropeway ascends to a height of 3,980 m (13,058 ft).
