NEW DELHI: Captain Shivani Sehrawat has created history by becoming the first woman officer to be appointed Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Chief of the Army Staff.

The landmark appointment marks another significant milestone in the Indian Army’s efforts to expand leadership and professional opportunities for women officers.

As ADC, Captain Sehrawat will assist the Army Chief in official, ceremonial and administrative duties.

Her appointment also reflects the Army’s continuing evolution towards assigning key responsibilities on the basis of merit, professional competence and capability.
