KARGIL: Following the recent snowfall, the Zojila Pass was once again open to cars. The District Administration, the Ladakh Police, the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Project Vijayak and Beacon personnel, and the Union Territory Administration were all thanked for their well-coordinated efforts. The CEC expressed its gratitude to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for their unwavering commitment in working under challenging weather circumstances to clear the path for the reopening of this important pass. Despite the difficulties, 160 passengers have already crossed the Zojila axis in 10 vehicles from the Kargil-Sonamarg route and 27 vehicles from the Srinagar-Kargil route. In addition, the Kargil District Administration sent ten cars to Srinagar to pick up people, including students.
