JAMMU, Oct 18: In the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, an army jawan deployed near the Line of Control died from bullet wounds under unclear circumstances. His final ceremonies were held in the Reasi district on Wednesday with full military honours. According to officials, 22-year-old Ridham Sharma was discovered injured by a gunshot while performing normal duty in the forward regions of the Balakote belt. On Tuesday, they stated, he passed away at the medical centre from his wounds.The body was examined post-mortem and turned over to the police. Sharma lived in the Reasi district’s Serwad hamlet. The police have opened an investigation into the situation and filed a case. When the jawan’s body was returned home for the final ceremonies, hundreds of people gathered in the village and chanted slogans honouring him. Complete military honours were applied to the final ceremonies.
