Anantnag Police Attaches Property Worth ₹85 Lakhs In Major Crackdown On Drug Mafia

Anantnag, May 5: Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking and the narcotics ecosystem, Anantnag Police has dealt a significant blow to the drug mafia by attaching immovable property worth approximately ₹85 lakhs under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
Acting under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, Police Station Srigufwara attached a single-storeyed residential house belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, son of Lassi Ganie, a resident of Shalgam, Srigufwara. The property has been identified as proceeds acquired through illicit drug trafficking.
The accused is involved in FIR No. 72/2022 registered at Police Station Srigufwara under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. During the course of investigation, it was established that the said property was purchased using illegal earnings generated from narcotics trade.
Following due legal procedures, the property has now been formally attached in accordance with provisions of the NDPS Act.
Officials stated that the move is part of a broader and sustained offensive aimed at dismantling the financial networks supporting drug trafficking in the district. By targeting illegally acquired assets, the police seek not only to prosecute offenders but also to weaken the economic foundations of the narcotics trade.
Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the district and issued a stern warning to those involved in narcotics activities that strict legal action, including attachment of properties, will continue without relent.
