Havan performed at Srinagar temple after over 30 yrs

SRINAGAR: According to officials, havan was conducted at Srinagar temple on Saturday for the first time since the militancy in Kashmir broke out more than thirty years ago. They stated that because of the current circumstances, the more than 300-year-old temple has been closed for number of years. On the occasion of Lord Bhairavnath’s birth anniversary, the Anandeshwar Bhairavnath temple, situated in the Maisuma locality of the city, conducted magnificent puja and havan, according to the statement. “Havan and puja were organised at the temple after about 32 years because the temple was closed for several years due to the prevailing situation,” stated Hira Lal, member of the temple trust. Lal added that the locals, the police, and the civil government all gave the havan their full support. He added that more than 150 individuals had been invited to the temple for the event. Following the puja and havan, prasad was given out to the worshippers and CRPF jawans stationed nearby.
