NEW DELHI: According to AAP sources on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responded to the ED summons, describing them as unlawful and politically motivated. Kejriwal was called in by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday to be questioned about the money laundering case related to the excise policy. But on Wednesday, he departed for an undisclosed location to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course. “Kejriwal referred to the recent summons as unlawful and politically motivated. He responded by saying that he has lived an honest and transparent life and that he has nothing to conceal. He responded by saying he is prepared to accept any legal summons, according to sources quoting him. Tuesday was Kejriwal’s scheduled departure for the Vipassana course; however, he was unable to make it because of his involvement in the INDIA bloc meeting. According to officials, he departed for the prearranged meditation class on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The Aam Aadmi Party questioned the summons’ timing on Tuesday, stating that “legally correct” measures will be taken after the party’s lawyers reviewed the notice. They claimed that the details of Kejriwal’s Vipassana session were “pre-scheduled” and available to the general public. “Everyone is aware that on December 19, the chief minister will depart for Vipassana. He attends this meditation class on a regular basis. It’s a prearranged and pre-announced plan, according to AAP lawmaker Raghav Chadha. Kejriwal was previously called in by the ED on November 2, but he chose not to appear for questioning, claiming the notice was unlawful and intended for political purposes.
