BANIHAL: Declaring that the people’s representatives alone can deliver governance to them at their doorstep rather than the bureaucrats currently in charge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and a former chief minister, asked for early assembly elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Speaking at a public rally in Neel, Banihal tehsil of Ramban district, Azad stated, “Elections in Jammu and Kashmir should be held without further delay since people repose faith in only electoral democracy and it has no substitute so far in the world.”“The public can speak with their representative about daily concerns. “They are all too poor to be pounding on the doors of civil secretariats and officers,” he remarked. When he forms the government, Azad said, Banihal will grow into a major economic hub for Jammu and Kashmir, and its residents will benefit from the tourism and agricultural industries. He also mentioned that hospitals, roads, and colleges were constructed in Banihal during his administration. “Before then, the area was landlocked, offering its residents little prospects for employment. People are no longer compelled to migrate in search of work because the economy has expanded and jobs for its citizens have increased since then,” he said. Because Banihal is dear to Azad’s heart, he stated that once his party assumes power, the area will undergo general socioeconomic development. “You people hold a special place in my heart, and I promise that Banihal will become one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “People should come here and spend their time in a way that will boost the local economy.” The chairman of the DPAP announced plans to build more hospitals and colleges to improve access to healthcare for the local population, as many cannot afford to travel far for medical care. One of his primary goals, according to him, is to guarantee that the youth of Banihal can compete on a national and international scale by offering high-quality education to the local population. He assured the public that not only would the development projects be approved, but also that the quality standard would not be compromised. “The educational facilities in Banihal must be of higher standards so that any youth here can compete with national and international students and crave out his or her own space,” he commented. Although Azad was constantly focused on approving projects for Banihal, he claimed that because of the insensitivity of officials at the ground level, there were difficulties in carrying them out. “I won’t let it happen again and ensure whatever is sanctioned is implemented on ground on a war footing basis,” Azad stated. In the event that we win, we would approve the best hospital in Neel, a tehsil, a college, a tourism centre, and more roads. He blasted political parties for taking advantage of Banihal residents, claiming that the people had rejected each and every one of them.
