KATRA: Reasi Police have arrested two persons and recovered 6.65 grams of heroin-like substance during naka checking at Chungi Point in Katra, officials said.
The recovery was made on September 29 during routine vehicle and pedestrian checking conducted by a police party from Police Station Katra at around 8:50 pm.
According to police, two men travelling on foot from Balini towards Katra Bus Stand were intercepted and searched. The suspected contraband was recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as Vinay Kumar, a resident of Bhagtha, Katra, and Deepak Gupta, a resident of Main Bazar, Katra.
Police have registered FIR No. 310/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Katra. Further investigation has been initiated, with officials examining backward and forward linkages to identify the source of the suspected contraband and its intended recipients.
