REASI: Reasi Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered 28 grams of heroin-like substance during naka checking near Baradhari, officials said.
A team from Police Station Reasi intercepted a car bearing registration number JK20A-6609 during routine checking and searched the vehicle and its occupants.
Police said 28 grams of heroin-like substance, locally known as chitta, was recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Mohd Parvez, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Seela, Reasi, and Mohd Riyaz, son of Ali Mohd, resident of Kansipatta, Reasi.
Both were arrested on the spot and the recovered contraband was seized in accordance with law.
Police registered FIR No. 151/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Reasi.
Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the alleged narcotics network and identify other persons involved.
Reasi Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drugs and appealed to the public to share information related to drug trafficking, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
