UDHAMPUR: Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Tuesday visited Udhampur to review security, traffic management and pilgrim facilitation arrangements along National Highway-44 for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During the visit, the DGP inspected the deployment of police and security personnel at key locations along the Yatra route and assessed the overall preparedness to ensure the safe and smooth movement of pilgrims.
Prabhat interacted with officers and personnel of Udhampur Police and other security agencies deployed for the annual pilgrimage. He appreciated their professionalism, dedication and coordinated efforts, commending the seamless inter-agency coordination that has helped maintain a secure and well-managed Yatra.
Emphasising the need for sustained vigilance, the DGP called for close coordination among all stakeholders and public-centric policing to ensure the pilgrimage continues in a safe, secure and incident-free manner. He also stressed the importance of effective traffic regulation and prompt assistance to pilgrims travelling along National Highway-44.
Officials said the review was conducted to assess the effectiveness of existing security and facilitation measures and ensure that all necessary arrangements remain in place for the smooth and successful conduct of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
