JAMMU, June 7: Police in Miran Sahib area have booked a YouTuber for allegedly outraging the religious feelings of a particular community.
On the complaint of Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Simbal Camp area, an FIR number 80/2025 under section 299 BNS (Outraging religious feelings) has been registered against the owner of a YouTube Channel, “Jammu Tube” and Instagram page, “journalist_meku” for allegedly using unlawful language against sacred tradition of Chhabeel Sewa, a police official said.
According to him, an unidentified woman, who runs the YouTube Channel and Instagram page, allegedly used some objectionable words against the practice of Chhabeel Sewa recently.
“While the woman is yet to be arrested, a first-of-its-kind case under section 299 of the BNS has been registered against her and further investigation taken up,” added the police official.
