Feb 12: In the course of ongoing discussions on budget with legislators, District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons and Deputy Commissioners, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who holds charge of the Finance Department, has assigned full day to Jammu district having 11 MLAs.The CM has been holding pre-budget consultations with representatives of two to four districts in a day.
Omar will be interacting with MLAs, DDC Chairperson and the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu district on February 16 at the Civil Secretariat Jammu. However, the MLAs, DDC chairpersons can also join the meeting from the concerned DC office via video conferencing.
Jammu district has 11 MLAs and 10 of them belonged to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Lone Independent MLA from Jammu district Satish Sharma (Chhamb) is a Cabinet Minister in Omar Abdullah Government.
The Chief Minister will meet representatives of Shopian and Kupwara districts on February 13, Poonch and Rajouri districts on February 14 and Doda and Kishtwar districts on February 15.
