KATHUA: An inter-state coordination meeting was held between the Kathua Police of Jammu and Kashmir and its neighbour Pathankot Police from Punjab to deal with criminal activities along the borders of the two regions. Kathua and Pathankot districts are located at the border between Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Kathua SSP Deepika along with Pathankot SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon took stock of the arrangements at Kathua-Punjab border area whereas Additional SP Kathua, Rahul Charak, DSP headquarters, Kathua, Manjeet Singh and other police officials were also present. The meeting focused on various issues including narcotics trade, illegal mining, transportation of illicit liquor and vehicle checking. The officials agreed to take strict action against any criminal activity on both sides of the border, ensuring a safer and more secure region. The meeting culminated in a joint strategy to enhance intelligence sharing, increase patrolling and surveillance, conduct regular joint nakas and strengthen border security. “This inter-state coordination meeting marks a significant step towards a unified approach to combat crime and maintaining law and order in the region,” an official said.
