SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah Tuesday hoped that NC – Congress alliance will get success in the upcoming Assembly elections and will be able to form next government in Jammu and Kashmir. He was speaking to reporters in south Kashmir’s Pampore where his party candidate and former MP Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi filed his nomination. “When it comes to coalition the parties have to bear some brunt. But we are happy the final decision on coalition in between NC and Congress was ended in a cordial atmosphere. I am hopeful that coalition will get success with God’s will and support of electorates, and will be able to form next government in Jammu & Kashmir,” Dr Farooq said. He said if our aim is sincere God will surely help us and bring out the nation from tumultuous situation. While responding to a query he said Article 370 which was taken away by BJP led government on August 05, 2019, will be brought back. “Had we ever thought India will achieve Independence from the British? No. But it conceived. Similarly those took away Article 370 were working on it for last 70 years to tinker with it. We are sure we will get it back though it will take 100 years time,” he said. The NC leader prayed for his candidate Justice (retd.) Hasnain Masoodi’s success in the upcoming Assembly elections which are scheduled to begin from September 18. The Elections Commission of India had recently announced three-phased election schedule for J&K according to which the polls shall take place on September 18, & 25; and October 1. The counting of votes will be held on October 4.
