Over 2,100 pilgrims leave for twin base camps from Jammu for the Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU: Officials said on Friday, A fresh batch of 2,100 pilgrims left Jammu city for the twin base camps in the valley to join the Amarnath Yatra.On July 1, the 62-day yearly pilgrimage to the 3,880-meter-high holy cave sanctuary of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas began from the two tracks: the customary 48-kilometer Nunwan-Pahalgam path in Anantnag and the quicker 14-kilometer Baltal route in Ganderbal. A convoy of 95 vehicles carrying 2,155 pilgrims, comprising 1,660 men and 443 women, departed the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas at this location.
