Jammu, Feb 4: In order to prevent anti-national elements from upsetting the tranquil atmosphere in the Jammu region, a senior Jammu and Kashmir Police officer has advocated for increased monitoring, an official said on Sunday. According to a spokeswoman, Sunil Gupta, the deputy inspector general of police for the Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, gave the orders during a meeting at the district police lines in Jammu to examine crime and security. The police spokesperson stated that officers were instructed to strengthen checkpoints and dominate areas in order to increase surveillance. Gupta also emphasised the significance of keeping an eye out for suspicious individuals in order to thwart the plans of anti-national elements to disrupt the tranquil atmosphere.The spokesperson stated that in order to keep an eye on the actions of miscreants, instructions have been given to enhance the installation of CCTV cameras and maintain accurate records. In order to strengthen surveillance capabilities and create safer settings, the police in attendance were urged to become involved with local communities and help install CCTV cameras. Gupta also emphasised the necessity for strong action against drug dealers and other anti-social elements, as well as specific measures to accelerate the conclusion of cases that are still under investigation, such as backlogs and inquest hearings.The representative added that finding missing people and promptly handling complaints and online issues were also priorities. In response to the drug problem, Gupta asked the cops to eradicate the threat by using a mission-oriented strategy. In order to eradicate this threat to society, he urged for increased efforts to locate and destroy the networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
