NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress on Tuesday, citing a popular crime series, over the recovery of over Rs 350 crore from properties connected to Congress leader Dhiraj Prasad Sahu. The prime minister made the comments in response to a BJP post on X that featured a video featuring images of Sahu with prominent Congressmen, such as Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as the mountains of cash found during Income Tax raids on locations connected to the Jharkhand MP. The popular title song from the series is playing in the background as the BJP captioned the video, “Congress presents the Money Heist!” The prime minister wrote, “In India, who needs ‘Money Heist’ fiction, when you have the Congress Party, whose heists are legendary for 70 years and counting.” According to official sources on Sunday, the cash seizure in the Income Tax department’s searches against the Boudh Distillery Private Limited, located in Odisha and owned by the family of Sahu, the Congress MP for Rajya Sabha, has been valued at Rs 351 crore. This is the largest amount of money that any investigative agency in the nation has ever taken in one action.
