RAJOURI: The Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), Mohmmad Riyaz, was detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday after being exposed as accepting a Rs 18,000 bribe. In response to a complaint from a man who claimed that he had approached Dil Mohd, a ration dealer, to obtain a Below Poverty Line card for his brother, the ACB made the arrest. According to officials, the ration dealer and the complaint went to Tehsil Supply Officer Rajouri and presented the paperwork required for the replacement card. They said that TSO Reyaz held up the issuance of the BPL card and sought Rs 20,000 in order to speed things up. The ACB set up a trap and caught Riyaz stealing Rs 18,000 after the man complained about him to them, they claimed. The ACB officer reported that Reyaz was detained immediately and that his home was searched.
