SIU attaches house of alleged LeT associate in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: SIU of Police in Shopian on Thursday attached the residential house of an alleged Lashkar e Toiba terrorist associate in Anantnag district, after obtaining necessary sanctions from the competent authority.According to a statement from the SIU, the Shopian unit, which is closely supervised by the DIG SIU Kashmir, SSP Shopian, and DySP CIO SIU Shopian, attached the residence of a terrorist associate in the Subhanpora, Bijbehera area of the Anantnag district as part of its ongoing campaign against those who harbour terrorists and provide logistical support.”A residential house of Abdul Rehman Ganai son of Mohammad Shaban Ganai father of terrorist associate Zubair Ahmad Ganai resident of Subhanpora Bijbhera has been found used by terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT,” the statement read. Additionally, it was stated that “during the course of investigation in case FIR No. 22/2022 of Police Station Zainpora Shopian, under the UA(P) Act. As a result, SIU Shopian started a process under section 25 of the UA(P) Act to attach any of the above accused’s property that could be considered proceeds of terrorism.”The general public is once again reminded not to host, provide shelter to, or extend logistics to terrorists and their associates in their residences or premises,” the statement said.
