BARAMULLA: Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 15 Corps, which is headquartered in Srinagar, stated on Tuesday that although things were “good” in Kashmir, more work needed to be done before things could forward. He was speaking with members of the media outside of the Baramulla event when the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of J&K officially opened General Bipin Rawat Stadium. “Situation is good but yet there is a little distance that we have to move forward,” he stated to reporters.Regarding the smuggling of drugs, he stated that the Indian Army was fully cooperating with the J&K Police and the state government to try and stop the smuggling of drugs across the border. “We are working in that direction,” he stated. The Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai spoke on the stadium’s opening, describing it as a “big day” and a proud moment for J&K and the entire nation that a stadium bearing General Bipin Rawat’s name had been named. “He (Bipin Rawat) not only commanded 19 infantry division Baramulla but has a special place in the hearts of people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.He declared that the Indian Army would take all necessary action to ensure the development of the Bipin Rawat Stadium. “We will be involved in the improvement of the facilities of the stadium,” he stated. He told the young people of Kashmir in his message that the region is progressing and that they have bright days and a very bright future ahead of them.
