Srinagar, Feb 19: On Monday, the PDP denied rumours that it was thinking of quitting the opposition INDIA group and insisted that it was still committed to keeping the coalition together. We remain steadfast in our dedication to our alliance and unity. Don’t let this malevolent misinformation trick you! The PDP reportedly opted to run for the Lok Sabha elections independently after splitting from the INDIA group, according to reports in certain media outlets. This prompted the party to respond. When National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah declared that the party would run its own campaign in the Lok Sabha elections last week, a similar uproar erupted. The party vice-president and son of Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, hastily called a news conference to refute the recommendations, stating that the National Conference was still dedicated to the INDIA bloc. But in Kashmir, which had won all three Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 elections, he dismissed the idea of seat sharing.Omar Abdullah stated that his party was amenable to a compromise about the two seats in the Jammu area and one in Ladakh that the BJP presently holds.
