SRINAGAR: Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, and his son Omar Abdullah, who was previously a chief minister in Jammu and Kashmir, have left for Saudi Arabia to do Umrah, or the “minor Haj.” The vice president of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah, shared a photo of himself and his father aboard a plane on social media. “O Allah, I intend to perform Umrah, so make it easy for me and accept it from me,” wrote Omar. The two NC leaders were covered in “ehraam,” which are two pieces of unstitched fabric that Muslims wear during the Haj and Umrah.
