MUMBAI: Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader , stated on Thursday that a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) should look into claims that members of the Adani family spent “hundreds of millions” in the business through mysterious investment vehicles based in Mauritius. On Thursday, new allegations were made against billionaire Gautam Adani’s company, which the conglomerate vehemently denied, alleging that members of the promoter family secretly invested hundreds of millions of dollars through the use of ‘opaque’ investment funds based in Mauritius to fuel the spectacular rise in group stocks from 2013 to 2018. Rahul Gandhi told reporters in Mumbai that the Adani case needs to be thoroughly investigated. “What’s with PM Modi’s silence? Gandhi questioned, “Why doesn’t he have this investigated?.Rahul Gandhi pointed to copies of the articles and stated, “Reputable international financial media have raised very critical questions on the Adani problem. “India’s reputation is in jeopardy before the G20 summit in the nation. “PM Modi should act and order an investigation into the Adani matter,” he said.
