New Delhi, Sep 28: The Punjab Aam Aadmi Party administration was accused by the BJP on Thursday of abusing its authority and acting out of retaliation, only hours after Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira was detained by the state police on drug-related charges. Tarun Chugh, the national general secretary of the BJP, concurred with the Congress in criticising Khaira’s arrest. In response to a query on the arrest, he remarked that it is sad that a government that arrived in the name of “transformation” is abusing its authority and consistently engaging in politics based on retaliation.
“Action should be taken if there is something wrong, but it should not be borne out of the spirit of revenge,” he stated. On Thursday morning, Khaira was detained by the Punjab Police in relation to a drug case from 2015. (Agencies)
