New Delhi, Oct 28: Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, stated on Saturday that the number of women hired for government positions at all levels has increased since 2014. During his opening speech at the 10th Rozgar Mela, Singh stated that the proportion of newly recruited women had more than doubled to 12–13% over the past nine years, from only around 6-6.25% in the years prior to 2014. “By passing the Women’s Reservation Act and giving women in the armed forces commissioning ranks, Prime Minister Modi has strengthened the Nari Shakti. In ISRO, women are also given important tasks, he stated.According to him, women will emerge as equal participants during the “Amritkaal” in the ensuing 24 years as we move closer to the aim of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) thanks to the 30% reservation for women in the Parliament and state legislatures and the growing number of women holding government positions. The 10th Rozgar Mela is special since it has over 50,000 new appointees, of which 21% are women.“Overall, more than 1.1 lakh employees—or 17% of all new hires—are women employees out of the over 6.48 lakh appointees in the 10 Rozgar Melas held in the last year,” the minister stated. According to Singh, the bulk of newly appointed officials during the 10th Rozgar Mela come from the railroads. About 51,000 persons who were hired during the 10th Rozgar Mela and placed in various government ministries received virtual appointment letters from PM Modi.
