SRINAGAR, Jun 30: officials said, on Friday that the Amid forecast for isolated to scattered light rain and thunderstorm in the next 24 hours, the minimum temperature recorded a drop in J&K.
Also rains lashed parts of J&K during the last 24 hours till 0830 hours today with Srinagar recording traces, Pahalgam 13.2 mm, Gulmarg 0.4 mm, Batote 0.9 mm, Kupwara 0.6 mm, Bhaderwah 1.4mm and Kathua 3.0 mm.An official from the local meteorological department reported that Srinagar recorded a low of 18.3°C, compared to 20.3°C the previous night, which was 1.2°C warmer than usual for the summer capital.
He claimed that Qazigund recorded a low of 16.6°C, which was 1.1°C warmer than average for the Kashmir Valley’s entry point town than the previous night’s low of 17.5°C.In comparison to the previous night’s low of 13.2°C, Pahalgam, a well-known tourist destination in the Anantnag region of south Kashmir, reported a low of 11.2°C, according to him. This was 0.4°C warmer than usual.
According to him, the mercury reached 15.7°C in Kupwara Town as opposed to 17.1°C the night before, which was 0.2°C warmer than usual for the north Kashmir region.Kokernag reported a low of 16.3°C compared to 16.7°C the night before, which was 1.4°C warmer than usual, according to the officials.
In contrast to the previous night’s low of 12.2°C, Gulmarg recorded a low of 11.0°C, which was 0.1°C warmer than usual, according to him. Gulmarg is a renowned skiing destination in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
According to him, Jammu’s overnight low of 27.1°C, up from 26.2°C the night before, was 1.5°C warmer than usual for the winter capital of J&K.Low temperatures were reported in Banihal at 17.6°C, 1.5°C over average, Batote at 17.7°C, Katra at 23.5°C, and Bhaderwah at 16.8°C, 0.8°C above average. The source stated that Leh and Kargil in Ladakh reported low temperatures of 9.8°C and 13.4°C, respectively.
