SRINAGAR, July 11: The NIA today conducted raids at several locations in South Kashmir in a new militant outfit case.The raids on the homes of hybrid militants and Over Ground Workers of the militants started early in the morning and lasted for a number of hours.
NIA conducted raids at five locations in Anantnag, Shopian, and Pulwama, according to a spokeswoman for the organisation, and multiple digital devices with copious amounts of damning material were also confiscated.The sites raided today were homes of hybrid militants and OGWs connected to recently formed offshoots and affiliations of multiple outlawed Kashmiri militant organisations, according to the statement.
“The homes of these organisations’ cadres and sympathisers were also searched. For their involvement in acts of terrorism, violence, and subversion in J&K, all of these cadres and employees are under investigation. The NIA is concerned about their possible involvement in the acquisition and transfer of IEDs, cash, narcotics, weapons, and ammunition, as well as sticky explosives and magnetic bombs.The NIA registered the J&K terror conspiracy case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) on June 21, 2022, according to the statement. It has to do with a physical and online plot by the outlawed terrorist groups to carry out a number of gruesome terrorist assaults in J&K using sticky bombs, IEDs, small guns, etc. The Pakistan-backed outfits are also involved in radicalising local youth and organising Over Ground Workers in order to disturb the peace and communal harmony in J&K.The statement said, “According to NIA investigations, Pakistan-based conspirators were using a variety of social media platforms to incite fear among the populace.” They were also employing drones to send bombs, drugs, and other supplies to their cadres and operatives in the Kashmir valley.
“Investigated terrorist groups include the Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, and other freshly founded terrorist groups. According to the report, these groups are linked to well-known terrorist organisations that have been outlawed, including Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda.
