JAMMU: Officials said that the SIA on Thursday conducted multiple raids in Rajouri and Poonch districts in a narco-terrorism case.In a case involving drug trafficking and financing for terrorism, two searches were carried out in the Poonch district, and two more in the Rajouri area. During these operations, searches were done at several Over Ground Workers’ (OGWs) residences. According to the officials, raids were carried out in the Rajouri villages of Bagla and Chingus as well as the Gambhir Mughlan hamlet of Manjakote police station. They claimed that the SIA team in Manjakote searched an OGW’s home in the village of Gambhir Mughlan.During the search, they claimed, an electronic device was also seized. The second raid in Rajouri district allegedly involved searching the homes of two brothers, one of whom is an OGW, in a village near to the Line of Control in the vicinity of the Chingus police post. According to officials, two raids were carried out in the Gursai police station area and Hamirpur Balakote, both in the Poonch district, along the Line of Control. They claimed that throughout the raids, evidence was confiscated. The officials claimed that these operations were carried out as part of an investigation into border guides who enable infiltration from the Line of Control. They further stated that these operations were carried out in coordination with the local police and government.
