SHIMLA : After visiting the disaster-stricken state on Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda stated that the Indian government is concerned about how Himachal Pradesh is being affected by floods and rain. Nadda claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had “regular conversations” regarding the state of the state, adding that the national government had taken the situation seriously. The manner Himachal Pradesh is being affected by floods and rain is a subject of concern for the Government of India, Nadda said in a statement to media after touring the areas of the state that have been devastated by natural disasters. Regarding this, PM Modi and CM Sukhu frequently spoke.”GoI has taken this issue seriously and offered all available assistance. The GoI gave the state disaster response fund the first tranche of Rs 180 crore from the disaster fund on July 10 and the second instalment of Rs 180 crore on July 17, he continued. Nadda promised the state government every assistance possible and emphasised that this is a humanitarian matter rather than a political one. This is not a political issue. This is a human rights concern. Working together for the benefit of the people of Himachal Pradesh is our duty. I have told CM Sukhu that the GoI and PM Modi will offer the state government all assistance they can. We would do everything in our power to assist the people of Himachal Pradesh, stated Nadda. According to Nadda, the state government has received nearly Rs 600 crore in funding for flood relief, and 20 NDRF teams are on the scene conducting rescue efforts. “When CM Sukhu met with PM Modi and Union HM Amit Shah, he requested temporary relief. Within two days, Rs 189 crores were made available. The state government of Himachal Pradesh has received a total of Rs 622 crores. Over 1,000 people have been rescued by 3 Air Force helicopters, 2 ITBP companies, and 20 NDRF teams, according to Nadda. Nadda expressed his sadness for the loss of people’s lives and property as a result of the catastrophe. “I had the opportunity to travel here and see the areas damaged by the flooding and strong rains. The loss that this catastrophe has brought about makes me sad. The administration is doing all possible to help individuals who are harmed, he said. He assessed the damage the state had sustained as a result of the flooding and heavy rains while he was there. He also got to know the grieving families of those who perished in the disaster. Nadda and Union minister Anurag Thakur also went to the Shimla neighbourhood of Krishna Nagar, where on August 15 six structures collapsed and two persons perished. The BJP chairman on Sunday discussed a special package for Himachal Pradesh, which has been severely affected by torrential rainfall and flooding, according to chairman Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.CM Sukhu met in-depth with JP Nadda and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday after they arrived in Shimla earlier in the day to assess the damage. “According to the Central Government’s relief manual, if a house is damaged, Rs 5,000 is received, and if a road is damaged (1 km), Rs 1, 25,000 is received,” CM Sukhu stated after meeting with them.I have urged the Central Government to amend their aid handbook. The entire state of Himachal Pradesh has been designated as a “natural calamity affected area” by the state government. The state government’s most recent data indicates that since June 24, Himachal has suffered a total financial loss of Rs. 8014.61 crore. With 113 landslides happening during the monsoon season, a total of 2,022 houses have been completely ruined, 9,615 houses have been partially damaged. According to a government bulletin, 224 people perished as a result of the monsoon storm, while 117 have died in car accidents in the state thus far.
