KISHTWAR: LG Manoj Sinha visited Kishtwar and paid obeisance at holy Shri Chandi Mata Machail shrine.Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary for Higher Education, Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu, Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt. Governor, and Sunil Sharma, a former minister, were in attendance with the Lt. Governor. The Lt. Governor assessed the services provided to pilgrims during his visit and spoke with representatives of the local populace.
At Gulabgarh Paddar, the Lt. Governor spoke to PRI representatives and locals, outlining the UT Administration’s efforts to develop Kishtwar holistically.
The administration, according to him, is devoted to equitable development, addressing community concerns, and making sure no segment of society is left behind.
The Lt. Governor declared, “In the past three years, we have undertaken numerous initiatives to address the problems of the people of Kishtwar, to increase employment opportunities, and to enhance connectivity in the rural areas.
The restoration of a movie theatre after a three-decade hiatus, improved road and communication connectivity, improved power infrastructure, and improved sports, health, and educational facilities, according to him, are proof of our dedication to raising the district’s residents’ standard of living.
The Lt. Governor reaffirmed the commitment of the UT Administration when discussing the steps made to upgrade the infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims travelling to Holy Machail Mata.
The building of the road, the installation of solar energy, and the provision of tented lodging for pilgrims have fueled the flood, and this year’s total has already surpassed one lakh, he noted.
The Lt. Governor thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government for providing funding for surveys and gemological analyses of sapphire mines.
We will be able to scientifically sell off the Sapphire mines in the upcoming year, boosting the local economy and making it one of the main drivers of growth in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The Lt. Governor promised time-bound and suitable action on all public demands reflected during the engagement in response to the concerns raised by the PRIs and the townspeople. Additionally, he gave the Principal Secretaries of Public Works (R&B) and Higher Education explicit instructions to act swiftly to resolve the pressing issue facing their respective agencies.

Because he has consistently believed that the disadvantaged and marginalised segments of society have priority access to government resources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has worked to guarantee that Paddar receives reservation on a regional basis.
The Lt. Governor asked for the active involvement of PRIs and the populace in carrying out all of the UT Administration’s measures to advance Kishtwar’s development.
He also urged the district’s youth to take advantage of the government’s home stay incentive programmes and advantages.
The Lt. Governor also went to the Paddar Gompa, where he mingled with the local Buddhists and prayed to the Lord Buddha for blessings.
“Buddhist community is an integral and equal part of our society. They have all the rights on the resources. Administration will provide all possible assistance for the all round growth and empowerment of the families,” the Lt Governor said.
Students of Government Degree College and Himalayan Cultural School Gulabgarh presented the Padari and Buddhist folk dance performances.
Dr. Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar; PRI representatives, senior officers and locals in large numbers were also present on the occasion.
