BARAMULLA: According to an official statement, Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have busted a narco module in the Baramulla district of the state after apprehending five drug dealers, including a woman. According to the report, the police also found illegal substances in the accused’s possession. The accused are Bakir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Chandsooma Kanispora, and Sharik Ahmad Sheikh, Sharif Ahmad Sheikh, Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, and Muskaan Bano, all of whom reside in DewanBagh Baramulla. “Police have busted a narco module, arrested five drug peddlers, including a lady in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession,” the statement continued.The statement states that at a checkpoint at Kralhar, a team led by Station House Officer Baramulla stopped a car carrying five persons, including a woman. “During their search, 45 grammes of contraband brown sugar and 345 grammes of Charas-like substances were recovered from their possession,” said the statement. The statement stated that they were taken into custody after being arrested and taken to the Baramulla Police Station. As a result, investigations have been launched and cases under pertinent legal sections have been registered, it continued.
