SRINAGAR : The JKP have attached 125 immovable properties including land and buildings located at 83 locations as they were found to be the “proceed of terrorism.”The properties were discovered to be utilised by Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), according to the police, who also noted that the State Investigation Agency (SIA) and executive branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police had conducted terrorism-related investigations that led to the discovery of these assets. According to the police, the properties have been seized in accordance with Sections 8 and 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. People have been urged not to participate in any form of transaction involving the notified attached properties, including any type of sale, purchase, rental, lease, or other type of transaction, according to a warning from the Jammu and Kashmir Police.In order to destroy the ecosystem of anti-national forces and terrorist networks antagonistic to India’s national security, property owned by or connected to the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami worth around Rs 3 crores in Jammu and Kashmir was sealed last month. An official statement stated, “The property is a shopping complex consisting of 20 shops along with annexe land falling under survey numbers 2990/2666/270 and 3551/2979/263 has been sealed and entry/usage barred has been prohibited.In the relevant revenue records, a “Red entry” has also been made to that effect. It went on to say that 57 properties owned by JeI have now been notified to SIA Kashmir. The action is anticipated to dramatically reduce funding for terrorism in J-K and constitute a big step towards restoring the rule of law and a fearless society. Relevantly, the SIA has discovered up to 188 JeI properties within the Union Territory of J-K that have either been notified or are currently being notified for additional legal action.
