SRINAGAR: On Sunday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police declared that cash rewards, ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 12.5 lakh, would be granted to individuals who furnish information that results in concrete measures being taken against the drug trade and terrorism. A reward of Rs 5 lakh is being offered by the police to anyone who provides information that helps identify cross-border tunnels that are used by anti-national elements to transship weapons, illegal substances, and terrorists. According to them, a reward of Rs 3 lakh has been announced for information that results in the seizure of shipments transported via drones across international borders. For information about individuals in contact with terrorists inside Pakistan or terrorist handlers operating there, a reward of Rs 2 lakh has been announced. Additionally, rewards will be given for information about elements that give terrorists information about police officers who are not on duty. According to police, information about individuals encouraging people to join terrorist groups through mosques, madrasas, schools, or colleges will earn them a reward of Rs one lakh. There will still be a reward for information that prompts action against terrorists. Depending on the terrorist’s classification, the reward can be anywhere from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 12.50 lakh, according to their statement.
