RAMBAN : Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was suspended on Friday due to mudslides and stone-throwing incidents in the Ramban region of Jammu and Kashmir, according to police. A traffic police spokesman provided information, stating that the road was blocked to traffic due to mudslides in Mehad and stone-throwing incidents at T-2 Ramban. “Peoples are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till clearance,” he stated. According to reports, the first snowfall of the season has fallen in the highway town of Banihal. The local meteorological office has forecast better weather starting this afternoon. New snow fell in J&K’s upper regions, and the plains were pounded by rain.
