JAMMU: An official release said that on Tuesday, in anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the Union Territory (UT) and the Navratri festival, Jammu’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Anand Jain, assessed the state of readiness at the Bhawan and Katra police stations in Jammu and Kashmir. At the Katra and Bhawan police stations, the IGP also presided over two separate sessions. According to the statement, IGP Jain gave the officers the appropriate instructions during the meeting. The IGP emphasised the need to be “extra vigilant” during these sessions and he advised all the officers and jawans to prioritise security measures in accordance with the approaching Navratras festival in 2023, it added.The IGP personally went to and looked over Katra town while talking with men on the ground. The measures to guarantee the region’s general safety and security were also emphasised by IGP Anand Jain. In the meantime, President Droupadi Murmu attended and spoke at the University of Kashmir’s 20th convocation earlier today in Srinagar. The President added that the nation is proud of the responsible young of Kashmir, according to a press release from the President’s Secretariat. She urged University of Kashmir students to actively engage in volunteer work in addition to their studies. By doing this, she claimed, individuals may influence social change and serve as role models. She was pleased to learn that former students have represented this university honourably while serving the nation. Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu placed a wreath at the Chinar War Memorial in Srinagar to honour the warriors who gave the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duty. “Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, will visit Jammu & Kashmir on October 11 and 12, 2023. The President will attend the University of Kashmir’s 20th convocation in Srinagar on October 11, 2023. She would engage in conversation with local tribal group members and women Self Help Group members on the same day at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.The President will also attend a civic reception being held at the Raj Bhavan in her honour, according to an earlier press statement from the President’s Secretariat. “On October 12, 2023, the President will visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine where she will inaugurate the remodelled Parvati Bhavan and Skywalk,” stated the announcement.
