Poonch, Aug 19: When the first batch of 1500 Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from different parts of the nation came in Poonch, the Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu people there greeted them with open arms.
Suryia Narain, the first group’s leader and vice president of the All India Bajrang Dal, was honoured by Bajrang Dal workers. The District Development Commissioner, Senior Superintendant of Police, and Commandant of the CRPF 38th Battalion were also lauded by Bajrang Dal members in Poonch.
In order to get to the holy place, the first group will leave tomorrow early for the Baba Budha Amarnath Mandi Yatra in Poonch district, which is 30 kilometres from Poonch city.Over the next 11 days, the Budha Amarnath Yatra will take place.
The first batch of pilgrims travelling to the Budha Amarnath temple in Poonch left Jammu early on Friday.
The Budha Amarnath Yatra began today, and every security measure has been taken. The next 11 days are dedicated to the Yatra. Best wishes for a safe voyage to each and every yatri, ADGP Singh told the reporters.
