JAMMU: Government Medical College Jammu & Associated Hospitals were thoroughly inspected today by Secretary of Health & Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, in order to obtain a personal understanding of how these top medical facilities in the Jammu region are run. He was briefed about the equipment installation and the recently opened hospital block at the Bone & Joint Hospital in Bakhshi Nagar. He visited the 200-bed medical facility accompanied by the principal and dean of GMC Jammu, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, the head of orthopaedics, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, medical superintendents of Associated Hospitals, heads of departments, senior professors, physicians, and other relevant parties.To obtain personal knowledge of the health and medical facilities offered, the secretary toured the entire hospital facility, looking through areas including the CT scan room, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, oxygen plant site, and outpatient department. He spoke with employees, physicians, paramedics, patients, and guests to find out what the hospital needed in terms of infrastructure and other requirements to improve patient care. In his address to stakeholders, Dr. Abid Rasheed stressed the importance of government health services and reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to public health. He said that the inspection’s goals included looking into methods to improve facilities and addressing problems that physicians, paramedics, patients, and attendants were facing. “We want to make sure that patients receive the greatest care and remain healthy. Our first priority and obligation should be to provide cutting-edge medical facilities,” he said. Drawing attention to the significance of establishments such as B&J Hospital, which was just opened and dedicated to serving the public, he conveyed the hope that it would grow into one of the nation’s leading medical facilities, not just in J&K. Later, he went to the State Cancer Institute in Jammu, looking over every block and area and interacting with physicians, paramedics, and patients to get a sense of the amenities on offer.For the benefit of cancer patients, cutting-edge medical equipment such as a CT simulator, PET scanner, linear accelerators with IMRT and IGRT, SRT facility, brachytherapy machine, and accelerator is being installed at the 100-bed SCI. Dr. Abid Rasheed emphasised that the institute’s goal is to give the poorest people access to the greatest cancer care available. In order to obtain feedback for the best course of care, he spoke with medical experts in the OPD, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Palliative/Pain Clinic. He also went to the GMC Jammu hostel, where he evaluated the amenities and answered the worries of the medical students. Dr. Abid Rasheed convened a conference earlier in the day to assess the operation of Ayushman Bharat PAMJAY Sehat in Jammu and Kashmir. Details of the plan, including its current state in the Union Territory, its implementation structure at the State and district levels, and the payment of insurance firms’ premiums according to policy were discussed in the meeting. Secretary H&ME stressed in his speech the fundamental aspects of AB PMJAY and asked officers to make sure it is implemented well for the good of J&K’s whole populace. Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Agency, Director of Finance, State Nodal Officer, State Grievance Nodal Officer, and other relevant parties attended the meeting.
