Div Com Jammu flags off J&K contingent to participate in 37th National Games to be held at Goa

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner for Jammu and Kashmir, Ramesh Kumar, officially opened the J&K UT contingent for the 37th National Gameswhich will take place in Goa from October 26, 2023, to November 9, 2023. 189 athletes and coaches from Jammu and Kashmir will compete in 18 different sports. The Divisional Commissioner stated that the National Games are key platform for athletes to demonstrate their ability for competitions throughout the world and are one of the most prominent and important events on our national sports calendar. “I am confident that our athletes will instill these qualities in themselves and bring honours to UT J&K. Great sportspeople are defined by their hard work, dedication, and discipline,” he continued.At the flagging off ceremony were Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, Baljinder Pal Singh, Member Sports Council, J&K Sports Council Chief Sports Officer, Former BCCI Member Ranjeet Kalra, Member Sports Council, Bhanu Pratap Singh, and Managers, Incharges, Coaches, and Mentors of the Jammu district. Speaking during the event, Ranjeet Kalra stated that the J&K Sports Council is dedicated to giving J&K youngsters the greatest facilities and coaching possible so they can succeed in sports.
