DIG reviews crime, security scenario of Doda

DODA : Dr. Sunil Gupta, DIG Doda-Kishtwar Range, visited District Doda on Thursday to assess security preparations for the approaching Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in 2023, ongoing local Yatras in the District, and the upcoming Eid celebration. At Bhaderwah, the DIG presided over a meeting with police personnel. SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom gave the DIG information on the district’s overall crime and security situation as well as the essential preparations in light of the current local Yatras and security measures for the impending Eid festival. In order to meet the goals, the DIG emphasised to the officers during the review of crimes that they should concentrate on conducting high-quality investigations and make extra efforts to guarantee that cases that are still being looked into, such as backlog cases, inquests, and other related problems, are resolved.The police were advised to adopt a mission-mode approach to combat the drug epidemic and put extra effort into making the District drug-free in order to protect the defenceless youth from falling victim to drugs. The DIG expressed satisfaction with the work carried out by Doda Police on various exercises under the direction of Range Police Headquarters, including record-keeping pertaining to militancy under operation “Kitab” and exercise of its physical verification as well as mounting effective surveillance on suspects under operation “Touch.” In addition, the DIG praised the effectiveness of the area domination plan and nomadic physical verification under operation “Milan,” which has served as a deterrent to the anti-social behaviour.In light of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, ongoing local Yatras, and other fairs and festivals in the District, the DIG urged the officers to be fully prepared and to exercise the highest level of vigilance and alertness to prevent the peaceful environment and stable law and order situation of the District from being disturbed. The officers were also given the appropriate instructions for installing additional CCTV cameras to monitor criminal activity and for taking necessary actions as part of operation “Bachao” to prevent arrests in connection with traffic accidents and other policing-related incidents. The meeting was attended by Susheel Kumar, DySP DAR Doda, Vinod Kumar Sharma, Additional SP Hqrs Doda, Jaswant Singh, DySP Hqrs Doda, Vaseem Mehmood, SDPO Bhaderwah, Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh, and SHOs of District Doda.
