JAMMU: The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain, unveiled the 2024 Calendar at a modest ceremony here at Police Headquarters, showcasing the accomplishments and initiatives of the J&K Police Wives Welfare Association. On the occasion were B.S. Tuti, AIG Welfare PHQ, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, DySP Welfare PHQ Shabir Ahmad, M.K. Sinha, IGP Headquarters/CIV PHQ, and ADGP (Hqrs/Coord.) PHQ. The J&K Police organised a number of significant events in 2023, some of which are featured in the 2024 calendar. It draws attention to the recognition it has gotten through the various medals given to J&K Police officials and officers, including the 01 Kirti Chakra.03 President Police Medals for Distinguished Services, 02 Shaurya Chakra, 80 Police Medals for Gallantry Services, and 31 Police Medals for Meritorious Services. The meeting between Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah and the families of martyrs, Manoj Sinha of LG, J&K paying tribute to martyrs and inspecting parade contingents, and LG, J&K presenting President’s Medals to the recipients during the investiture ceremony held at Raj Bhawan, Jammu, are the other noteworthy events on the calendar. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge Ceremony, blood donation camp, police commemoration parade at APC Zewan, inspection of the Guard of Honour by DGP J&K R. R. Swain at PHQ, Srinagar, and images from the 33rd Police Public Mela, which included children painting competitions, PWWA members and chairperson, and students at Diwali Mela in Jammu, are also highlighted in the calendar.
